All testing is conducted by a Commit2Fit trained respirator fit tester, using a TSI Portacount 8048 ensuring your programme is backed by recognised expertise and industry best practice.

A fit test confirms that tight-fitting RPE, including half-face and full-face respirators, create a reliable seal on the wearer’s face. Without a proper fit, even high-quality respirators may fail to protect against airborne contaminants, hazardous dusts, or toxic vapours.

  • We provide quantitative (QNFT) fit testing, using validated methods and calibrated equipment to confirm a proper seal across a range of respirator types.

  • Covers half-face, full-face, and tight-fitting PAPR systems. We work with trusted brands like GVS-RPB, CleanSpace, 3M, Sundström, and others across various industries.

  • We check for factors that could affect fit, including facial hair, sizing, and face shape, and confirm the respirator type suits the wearer before testing begins.

  • Includes pass/fail outcomes and fit test details. Records are provided for site compliance, audits, or WorkSafe NZ verification.

  • We inspect respirators for wear, damage, or missing components such as degraded straps, faulty valves, or cracked seals to confirm the mask is safe and ready for testing.

  • We help match the right mask and filter to your task, exposure risk, and environment, ensuring your team is using protection that fits both the face and the job.

  • We help you stay on track with annual fit testing (recommended under AS/NZS 1715). Re-testing is required after significant weight changes, facial surgery, major dental work, or a change in respirator model or size.
